The Stock Controller is responsible for managing all inventory operations at our 32-bedroom boutique hotel. This includes receiving deliveries, organizing and issuing stock, conducting regular stock takes, reporting variances, and ensuring strict control over minibar inventory and operational equipment. The role is critical to maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing wastage, and ensuring cost control throughout the property.
- **Key Responsibilities**:_
- Stock Receiving & Storage:_
- Receive all incoming deliveries for the hotel (food, beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.).
- Verify quantity and quality of items received against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely communication with procurement or accounts departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure stockroom.
- Label and store goods appropriately based on category and perishability.
- Invoice capturing.
- Stock Issuing & Distribution:_
- Issue stock to various departments (kitchen, bar, housekeeping, maintenance) as per approved requisitions.
- Record all issuances accurately in the inventory management system or manual logs.
- Monitor stock levels daily and ensure reordering is done on time to prevent shortages.
- Inventory Management:_
- Conduct weekly stock takes of all relevant storerooms and outlets, including bar and kitchen.
- Perform minibar stock counts in all 32 rooms weekly or after guest checkout, and record usage.
- Report all stock variances (over/under) with clear explanations and corrective actions.
- Keep detailed records of stock movement and loss, and suggest improvements to reduce wastage or theft.
- Reporting:_
- Submit weekly inventory reports, including:

- Opening and closing stock
- Stock received and issued
- Variance analysis
- Minibar consumption and replenishment summary
- Collaborate with the finance team to assist with monthly cost control reporting and audit preparation.

Other Duties:

- Work closely with the kitchen, bar and operations team to forecast stock requirements based on occupancy and events.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures are followed.
- Implement stock security procedures to prevent pilferage and spoilage.
- Adhere to hotel policies and health and safety regulations.
- Qualifications & Skills:_
- Proven experience as a stock/inventory controller, preferably in hospitality or F&B.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or Excel-based tracking tools.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of hospitality operations, particularly minibar and kitchen stock handling, is an advantage.
- Working Hours:_
- Average of 45 hours work week, days flexible on demand.
- Early morning availability preferred (to receive deliveries).
- Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required.
- Salary:_
- Base salary range 12k to 15k - Qualifications dependent.
