**Assistant Manager - Retail/Wholesale**
The position requires the ability to be self-motivated and customer-focused as well
as the ability to guide, lead, direct and coach employees. Maximise Sales, find ways to improve and develop sales numbers. This is accomplished through analysing sales performance and monitoring competitor activities and trends and to find new opportunities.
Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Motivate sales teams to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.
Recruit, train and develop staff. Respond to all customer queries, complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
Ensure store compliance with health and safety regulations.
Develop and arrange promotional activities within the store.
Prepare detailed reports on sales trends, customer requirements for stock
Monitor inventory levels and suggested order requirements.
Utilize sales date to manage, develop and serve existing customers and obtain new ones.
Develop growth strategies by implementing and executing plans that help the business grow and meet sales targets.
Must have good decision-making skills, are comfortable leading a team and have an aptitude for numbers.
Problem solving, need to be able to identify problems/issues or faults with sales, the processes and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively as well as the ability to process information clearly which is vital to the role.
Leadership, need to be able to motivate various types of individuals and teams and motivating teams to work towards shared sales targets and strategies, so strong leadership skills are a must.
Customer Focus, a large part of the role is to build relationships with customers and put the customer at the forefront of their strategies and plans. Previous experience in a customer-orientated role is advantageous.
Computer Skills, this role requires the ability to utilize data and produce presentations, have the ability to use computer software to do this effectively.
Numeracy Skills, regularly analyse data and sales reports, so to have strong numerical abilities in order to calculate numbers, percentages and projections.
People Skills, understanding people’s behaviour, identify skill and training needs of the team. Understanding the disciplinary code of conduct as to ensure that all disciplinary measures are adhered to, warnings, disciplinary procedures, CCMA and labour legislation.
The minimum requirements are a Matric Certificate, Diploma in Retail Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, Sales Management or similar.
Must have 5 to 8 years Retail/Wholesale Management experience working in a Retail or Wholesale environment, this is not negotiable.
Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
Customer service orientated with depth knowledge of business management processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid Drivers licence with own reliable transport.
