**Job Purpose**
- The Receptionist is responsible for providing a friendly, welcoming and efficient service to all guests, in line with the property’s vision and values on guest satisfaction. The main purposes of the reception area’s staff are to respond courteously to guests’ requests, play a part in the general running of the front desk and assist the Hospitality Manager to maintain a smooth room bookings service.**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the smooth operation of all the activities of the front office
- Monitor and review the checklist of all the arrivals and departures
- Handle booking and reservation duties
- Liaise with necessary staff including housekeeping and maintenance to address any problems or complaints
- Complete and maintain any incident reports, daily activity reports or other reports requested by management
- Ensure the highest service standards for all guests and visitors, dealing with them with high patience, diplomacy, and tact
- Verify the credit cards for authorization and handle all cash and charge postings
- Provide overall assistance to the resort managers
- Operate as relief management whilst Resort Manager is on leave and may be required to stay on the property during this time
- Conduct unit inspections pre guest arrival
- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Diploma
- Technical Skills and Competencies- Experienced with working with hospitality-based Property Management Systems (PMS)
- Skilled at preparing reports pertaining to rooms and revenue generated
- Maintain effective working professional relationship with the associates
- Excellent organization skills, effective communication skills, ability to function well in pressure situations
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Telephone skills and etiquette
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum Experience Level- 2 - 5 years relevant experience
