A well-established and reputable chemical company urgently seeks a suitably qualified Health Governance Risk and Compliance Technical Specialist.

**Purpose of the job**

To support the business; in ensuring adherence to compliance and risk mitigation by leading the compliance and risk based technical audit process, in sustaining the Process Safety and Responsible Care systems and EHS Legal standards through regular monitoring, evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement of the PSM & RC Management System of which must all be in line with legal, regulatory and business requirements.

The abovementioned activities shall be conducted in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993 and all relevant policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Matric
- BSc Eng. or BEng Qualification, (Chemical)
- SAMTRAC or equivalent occupational SHE training
- Driver’s License
- Internal Auditor - PSM
- Legal liability & compliance
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Environmental Legislation
- Health & Safety Officer or SHEQ Officer
- GHS/ Dangerous goods

**Experience**
- 3-5 years in implementing and maintaining SHE, Process Safety and Responsible Care Systems in a Chemical or similar Manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3-5 years in a Chemical or similar Manufacturing Environment

**Technical Competencies**
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and applicable standards & codes
- Knowledge of Environmental legislation and applicable standards & codes
- Sound Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018
- Knowledge of Responsible Care Standards
- Sound Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Knowledge of Major Hazards Installation (MHI)
- Knowledge of Root Cause Investigations (RCI)
- Knowledge of Operational Risk Management, HAZOPs
- Knowledge of Compliance within a chemical, manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015
- Knowledge of GHS
- Knowledge of ISO 17021: 2019
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Prioritising
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Reporting
- Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Coordinating
- Use of Digilex
- Internal auditing
- Understanding of ISO 19011:2019
- Understanding of ISO 17021:2019
- Competent in auditing ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, Process Safety and Responsible Care management systems.

**Personal Circumstances**:

- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre

**Other details**

**Salary**: R500K basic annual salary, highly negotiable depending on experience.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: R450,000.00 - R500,000.00 per year
