**_ Position Purpose:_**

To assist the EAP Manager in providing an integrated and comprehensive proactive and reactive employee health and

wellness service at a micro and macro level to ensure a well-motivated and productive workforce for the benefit of all

stakeholders of Transnet Port Terminals.

**_ Position outputs:_**
- Responsible for assisting in the coordination functions, implementation of and, management of occupational health and

employee wellness strategy - 5s of Health (System, Surveillance, Sharing of Information, Sanitisation, Self-care)
- Assist with the day to day and administrative EAP functions related to e.g., consultation with line managers and employees

in employee/ line manager empowerment to effectively manage/ negate personal problems that may negatively impact
- performance/ organisational deliverables/ pose a risk. Example: schedule EAP intervention sessions with line manager and

employee.
- Assist with medical referrals to the Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP onsite Dr) i.e., all cases flagged either by EAP,

Line manager, employee e.g., arrange appointment/ slot for employee to be assessed by onsite Dr/ OMP
- Arrange counselling slots for employees with the external EAP service provider
- Provide counselling to employees to ascertain their problem for appropriate referral.
- Assist with the management of annual medicals target compliance.
- Assist with the securing of slots for annual medicals and flag those overdue through tracking process.
- Assist with the issuing of non-conformance and stop certificates in the case of non-adherence to annual medicals/ chronic

monitoring/ conditional fit to EAP Manager, Line Managers, SHEQ Officers, HR/ ER
- Assist with the management of all COVID-19 cases and compliance to COVID-19 protocols
- Assist with the notification of all COVID-19 cases to the Dpt of Health and Dpt of Labour where applicable.
- Assist with the reporting of all COVID-19 related stats and any COVID-19 issues to HQ
- Tracking of utilisation stats internal counselling and external referral/ s for reporting purposes
- Assist with targeted interventions to organisational problems identified i.e., training and awareness on stress and fatigue

management, substance abuse.
- Tracking of internal and external cases referred to external EAP service provider for follow-up purposes
- Maintaining and collating monthly counselling intake notes, Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP onsite Dr) referrals as

well as external EAP service provider report stats for Opco (weekly and monthly)
- Liaise with Line Manager/ employee/ HR and T&A regarding Special Sick and Risk Pool documentation
- Assist with the sign off/ validation of Special Sick cases by Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP onsite Dr)
- Assist with the presentation of Special Sick cases to the AIM Panel monthly
- Submit all Risk Pool documents to the fund and insurer
- Assist and maintain Risk Pool cases tracker i.e., follow-up with service provider on secondary appointments scheduled.
- Arrange for Functional Capacity Assessments (FCE’s) with Incapacity and Risk Pool cases. Liaise with employee and line

manager in ensuring employee attends secondary assessment.
- Conduct EAP Service Induction to new recruits i.e., EAP referral processes including impact of employee high absenteeism

TPT target vs current, Special Sick and Fit for Duty process
- Assist with the fit for duty process of all Risk Pool exits/ gradual reintegration into the workplace as part of the

Return-to-Work process
- Assist with arranging onsite Wellness Days i.e., liaise with service providers, preparation of all activities comprising the

wellness event
- Assist with the drafting and printing of pay-slip inserts.
- Assist with the drafting of health and wellness promotion Ops Briefs, bulk sms’s
- Assist with the arranging of training and tracking of stats for wellness days, all EAP related training sessions for example:
Fatigue management, Absenteeism management, Formal Referral process for blow reds etc
- Scheduling of meetings with service providers
