**_ Position Purpose:_**
- Responsible for planning, designing, development of Portfolio’s of multiple Programmes/Projects/Initiatives required to

execute against the Digital Transformation Strategy and Roadmap.
- Managing and coordinating activities pertaining to IT development standard and principles in support of Agile/DevOps

programmes and projects across Transnet Freight Rail.
- Leads the execution of the Digital Transformation Roadmap across the organisation to ensure the realisation of the TFR

Digital Strategy.
- Provides leadership by building and motivating project teams to meet programme/project goals and milestones.

**_Position outputs:_**
Agile/DevOps PMO Function
- Advocate and champion, the implementation of the Agile/DevOps methodology to ensure the organisational adoption and

culture change required to ensure successful execution of the programmes/projects required to deliver on the roadmap.
- Facilitates benefit realisation of products with business as co-creators of work packages / high value / minimum viable

products developed / configured / deployed with ICTM to ensure ROI at a full package / platform being delivered.
- Responsible for product development / configuration / deployment updates at work package and integration levels that

meets business needs and overall solution level, ensuring that solution owners and development teams identify and address
- all production issues and implementing their resolutions.

Agile/DevOps Programme / Project Management
- Assumes the role of the Product Owner in line with COBIT 2019 framework for Plan, Build, Run and Monitoring as the

common owner of the product/solution being developed/ configured to ensure delivery against business requirement or
- resolution of business problems.
- Ensures compliance to governance controls as directed by the project governance controls framework to ensure successful

implementation of the Agile/DevOps programmes/projects/initiatives.
- Responsible for the portfolio management including translation of portfolios into programmes/projects/initiatives required to

deliver on the digital transformation strategy.
- Works with architects, solution owners and development teams to design and develop work packages or high value or

minimum viable products to deliver ICTM capabilities and services.
- Responsible for the life cycle enablement service (including maintenance and support) of products health to ensure value

realisation of all capabilities/products being developed/configured/deployed.
- Responsible for the tools, frameworks and development of artifacts required to deliver, embed and sustain the utilisation of

the Agile/DevOps Methodology.
- Review and development of the scrum artifacts including product backlog and sprint backlogs.

Programme/Project Governance
- Ensuring programmes/projects/initiatives compliance to programmes/projects/initiates governance controls are in place and

align to the Agile/DevOps methodology/culture.
- Ensures that information management is done whereby programme information will be catalogued, filed, stored and

retrieved, and how the programme creates and manages information is according to COBIT and ITIL.
- Ensures that Quality, Risks, Issues, Stakeholders and Benefits are managed in terms of Agile/DevOps.
- Ensures that the PMO operates within the applicable legislation e.g. PFMA, and Transnet governance e.g. PPM.
- Responds to audits as required.

Agile/Dev Ops Programme/Projects Outputs

a. Implement Projects using DevOps by ensuring that the following are practiced:

- Practices the following DevOps Principles, namely:

- Principles of Flow;
- o Principles of Feedback; and
- Principles of Continual Learning and Experimentation.

b. Develop Project Plans according to DevOps by:

- Agile/DevOps Project: Time-box planning, sets short periods of time for work to be done. Develop a release schedule of

capabilities.
