**Minimum education required**:
A relevant tertiary qualification - BSc in Computer Science, IT Diploma or related field - or equivalent experience in software testing. International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB) certification would be an advantage.

**Minimum experience required**:
2 years Quality Assurance and/or systems testing experience required.

**Desired skills and experience**:

- Experience of testing complex software systems
- Experience with writing SQL queries
- Excellent understanding of testing concepts
- Experience of creating manual test plans and test cases
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

- Exposure to software testing utilities such as SoapUI and LoadUI

- Experience with platform and operating system architecture

- Knowledge of front-end and back-end systems
- Knowledge of common protocols and standards such as HTML, XML, CSS, TCP/IP, SSL and FTP
- Exposure to ISO 8583 or ISO 20022 payment protocols would be an advantage

**Key focus areas**:

- Documenting and executing regression, functional, and integration tests
- Providing support to development, QA and project teams when required
- Compiling documentation describing product functions and features
- Troubleshooting and managing software bugs and defects
- Working with developers and the QA team to complete tasks within allocated timeframes
- Providing daily feedback to the department head

**Purpose**:
Produce a document set that will serve as a technical library for the Traderoot teams.

**Essential duties and responsibilities**:
The chief duties and responsibilities of this role are:

- Assisting with the development of new software products
- Performing quality assurance on several software products
- Working with a diverse group of team members to meet established deadlines with high-quality deliverables
- Developing and documenting test strategies, test plans, test cases, SQL scripts and test automation scripts based on functional requirements and conditional data
- Documenting and executing regression, functional, and integration tests
- Analysing and writing test standards and procedures
- Supporting an ongoing effort to automate and document QA regression testing
- Compiling documentation describing product functions and features
- Creating and maintaining testing environments
- Providing product support
- Performing product integration with other systems
- Writing detailed manual test cases based on business and functional requirements
- Compiling documentation describing product functions
- Finding, troubleshooting and managing bugs and defects found during testing, and prioritising them based on severity and business value
- Working with developers and the QA team to resolve outstanding bugs
