Solid Wood Carpenter

**Job Title**: Experienced Solid Wood Carpenter

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble solid wood components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Build custom furniture, cabinetry, doors, staircases, and architectural woodwork using solid wood
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and shop drawings
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Sand, finish, and inspect final products to ensure high-quality standards
- Repair and restore solid wood items as needed
- Collaborate with designers, clients, and project managers to ensure product meets expectations
- Ensure work area is clean and tools are properly maintained
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a carpenter specializing in solid wood craftsmanship
- Proficient in the use of woodworking tools, machines, and techniques
- Strong understanding of wood types, grain patterns, moisture content, and joinery methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction and fabrication drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Physical stamina and dexterity for handling materials and operating equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of finishing techniques such as staining, varnishing, or lacquering is a plus

Pay: R2 415,00 - R3 220,00 per week
