Our organisation, a qualified and fully infrastructure-compliant, proudly South African B-BBEE Level 1 construction and engineering company that services the Commercial, Mining, Parastatal and Governmental sectors with a team with over 30 years of aggregated experience seek to appoint a qualified and skilled Construction Project Manager.

The incumbent will be responsible for collaborating with engineers, and architects to determine the specifications of the project and will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
- Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
- Supervise the work of laborers and give them guidance when needed
- Evaluate progress and prepare appropriate reports and disseminate the report / matters arising throughout Construction Operations as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
- Respond to recommendations on SHEQ performance within assigned responsibilities and provide mentoring and support to achieve the objectives and targets.
- Liaise with the Safety Officer, SHEQ on all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality matters.
- Direct, guide and coordinate site personnel, to achieve effective construction execution.
- Develop and implement Construction Execution strategies at the commencement and during the execution phase of the project.
- Carry out regular reviews of Construction workload, manpower utilization and staffing requirements, to ensure both the adequacy and efficiency of all assigned staff.
- Set up and implement reviews and audits to provide assurance that all supervised activities are being undertaken in accordance with the appropriate procedures and work practices, and that procedures and work practices are sufficient.
- Responsible for site administration by Site Administration setting targets, objectives and clear responsibilities for all site personnel
- Comply with Company and client confidentiality agreements pertinent to Construction Operations.
**Critical Skills and Experience**
- Proven experience as construction project manager particularly with building renovations.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Good knowledge of MS Projects
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities
- Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, building construction or relevant field
- PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
