The role is responsible for Assisting the Financial Manager with the execution of various day to day roles and responsibilities in our Johannesburg office.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Financial reporting - Ensure general ledger accounts are accurate, up to date and valid,

Oversea preparation of all SOX reconciliation in line with company requirements

Review and sign off monthly/quarterly bank, sub-ledger and fixed asset reconciliations

Preparation of commentary on management expenses variances

Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports

Oversea and handle quarterly SARB reporting

Technical (insurance and reinsurance) and non-technical (management expenses) payments function

Process or authorise and oversee technical and non-technical payments

Supervise and manage accounts payable function ensuring payments processed contain the correct supporting documentation

Management of Intercompany Accounts

Deal with the intercompany reconciliations and settlements process ensuring completeness, accuracy and validity of all transactions processed

Manage the resolution of out of balance intercompany transactions with affiliate entities

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Proactive, self-starter with good interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to function within a team

Excellent proficiency of MS Excel and ability to work with large volumes of data

Attention to detail, Solutions orientated, Ability to learn new systems and Process focussed

Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, Multitasker who is able to cope under pressure

Recently qualified CA(SA) from Big 4 audit firm welcomed

Experience in the short-term insurance industry welcomed

In depth knowledge of local statutory reporting and IFRS
