The purpose of this position is to help spread the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. This position requires an individual that will write engaging and informative pieces that will resonate with the relevant audiences. Church messages are published via television, web, print, social media, mobile and other delivery channels, and this position will further enhance this great work.
- Completing well-researched writing projects and keyword driven pieces to boost organic traffic.
- Creating high quality, clear and innovative headlines, tags and body copy.
- Write engaging content for articles, the area website, presentations, case studies, infographics and other assets.
- Ensure consistency in writing style, fonts, tone and clear messaging.
- Editing content to ensure grammar, voice and style are aligned.
- Being an integral part in the development of the Local Liahona pages.
- Revising written content whenever changes are requested.
- The ability to simplify complex topics and language into pieces that are easily understood.
- Conducting research and organize sources on any given topic.
- Working with a team to optimise articles for SEO and accessibility.
- Collaboration with other team members to align written content with the style guide and other assets.
- Edit and proof-read content produced by other team members.
- Staying up-to date with trends and identifying gaps in current topics and recommending new ones.
- Collaborate and brainstorm with the team for new strategies and ideas.
- Must hold a current / valid Temple recommend and /or be worthy to possess one.
- Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism, English major or a related field with at least 4-6 years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to focus on detail.
- Exceptional written communication and editing skills, coupled with impeccable use of grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Compelling writing style, voice and tone.
- Creative and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent Communication and listening skills.
- Being able to work in a team and collaborative environment.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
