WATER AND SANITATION WS 78/24 Technician
**Requirements**:

- National Diploma/N6 in Mechanical Engineering
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant experience
- Valid driver’s licence
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- Knowledge of relevant / applicable local authority legislation,

regulations and policies
- Willingness to work after hours to meet project-related deadlines
- Physically fit.

Key Performance Areas
- Assist other branches in instituting planned maintenance
- Conduct preliminary investigations of equipment and resources

and report back verbally and in writing to that branch's
management
- Manage the formulation and specification of specific contracts

and tender documents, control and implement contractual
obligations for all Mechanical engineering (major repairs
projects and fault finding) and maintenance and infrastructure
upgrades, within the region
- Assist other branches in running their planned maintenance

programmes
- Perform specific administrative functions
- Prepare a schedule for the maintenance and lubrication of

equipment, by consulting the instruction manuals,
supplying agent or other experts involved in the maintenance
of equipment
- Handle all enquiries and requisitions for maintenance work

required on plant/equipment/site
- Monitor contractor performance against agreed terms and

conditions through ongoing interaction with site personnel,
on-site inspections, etc. and alert the Contractor to any acts of
non-conformance
- Draft correspondence to branches and departments to request

services
- Ensure that adequate standards are adhered to for maintenance

projects and implemented as planned.
