**purpose**:

- To spearhead and supervise variousspecialist compliance initiatives, practices, programmes and projects within anorganisation or segment, ensure efficiency and smooth workflow and as apractice leader, identify project needs and participate in setting goals andobjectives for the practice discipline and enable implementation by providingpractice knowledge expertise inputs, guidance and advice to stakeholders To formulate tactical strategy and associateddelivery plans related to a compliance discipline like market conduct or dataprivacy or financial crime or client desirability, ensuring practice integrationand operational implementation through the achievement of compliance managementobjectives to guide the segment and business unit compliance team by providingexpert advice to minimise regulatory, reputational and compliance risk andendeavour to avert potential litigations/ penalties and ultimately increaseshareholder value for the bank**experience and qualifications**:

- Minimum Qualification - Post Graduate qualification in a relevant field, related to a Compliance discipline
- Preferred Qualification - Compliance Professional Certification will be advantageous
- Completion of RE Examinations will be an advantage
- FSCA Compliance Officer approval will be an advantage
- Experience - Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 2 to 3 years ideally at Compliance Specialist level
- Experience in drafting of legal agreements, documents, and opinions.
- Additional Knowledge - Good understanding of legal risk management within the relevant industry sector
- Strong organisational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks in an energetic environment with multiple priorities
- Exemplary writing and editing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet
- Excellent communication and analytical skills in both written and spoken English
- Excellent judgment and ability to anticipate legal issues or risks
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and responsibility
- Ability to communicate complex legal matters with clarity and precision to senior persons/forums
