- Effectively supervise a team of general workers, perform the duties of a drilling operator and in the process achieve competency at this entry level role
- Successfully complete on the job practical work and theory at the M&RC Training Academy
- Safely operate raise drilling machines under supervision
- Follow lock out procedures
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and timeously
- Understand and comply with M&RC’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols

**Minimum requirements**
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Raise Drilling Operator training program [Theory essential]
- Competency B
- Good English written and verbal communication skills
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Raise Drilling General Worker (Advantageous)
- Sound knowledge of raise drilling operations and methods
- Understanding of a baseline risk assessment with ability to complete an issue based risk assessment independently [essential]
