**Summary**
This role will challenge, test and create new thinking and strategic approaches for the Sub-Sahara business. It is our ambition to utilize this role as a career accelerator as the incumbent will have responsibilities across Marketing and Sales, focusing on both, short term delivery of our sales and profit objectives, as well a long-term strategic focus on portfolio and go-to-market model for Sub-Sahara Africa.
The incumbent will leverage a unique understanding of the different market environments, go-to-market models, distributor management and marketing landscape, to develop and implement fit-for-purpose strategies and marketing plans to achieve key commercial business objectives. He/ she will develop cross-functional relationships, leverage internal analytics and external market data to gain insights for immediate, medium and long-term decision-making.
**The main duties and responsibilities of the position are**:
- Develop and implement an end-to-end Export Markets strategy that supports our 2026 ambition through future trends and fit-for-purpose portfolio.
- Monitors and anticipates market, economic, competitive, and regulatory conditions that impact the Sub-Sahara Export markets.
- Together with the brand teams, define and execute the marketing, media & consumer activation plans.
- Develop innovative solutions frameworks and options regarding complex and sensitive issues to achieve improved strategy outcomes including through problem identification, testing, and challenging assumptions, and approaches.
- Understanding how customer and market insights, external business landscape, critical financial indicators, and Johnson and Johnson ‘s business enterprise and functions are related to the impact the business of the export markets.
- Constantly evaluates go-to-market models, to optimize existing footprint and set-up.
- Establish and maintain strong relationship with our distributor’s partners.
- Work closely together with the regulatory and brand teams to define and execute the right portfolio strategy for the export markets.
- Work together with supply chain and our delivery partner, securing continuous and smooth flow of inventories into our distributors.
- Support the export markets managers and finance on payment and trading terms topics.
- Support the export managers and HCC on tracking and keeping distributor’s due diligences up to date.
- Translates market dynamics into the ability to drive pricing and contracting strategies that transfer value into profitability on a cluster basis. This includes understanding various pricing strategies (e.g.: value, cost, competitor).
- Drive a long-term focus and awareness of emerging issues and disruptive trends relevant to the markets to inform strategy formulation.
- Provide expert, strategic evidence-based advice on highly complex strategy proposals, initiatives, and issues to support informed decision making, and strategy development.
- Drive joint customer and shopper value that creates disproportionate ROI and attracts additional regional investment for growth.
- Understand key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market
- research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends to
- translate results into actionable insights for the brand teams.
- Develop good working relationships with the other stakeholders within the business.

- Distributor’s relationship management
- Marketing/Shopper/Consumer strategy development and implementation
- Define and execute in store level execution KPIs from distributor to customer, to successfully implement Perfect Store
- Achieve supply chain KPI’s
- Achieve in-market execution targets
- Achieve personal development targets for self and team.
**Qualifications**
We’d love to hear from YOU, if you have**:
- Minimum of 3-year Degree or diploma with at least 10 years in Sales
- Additional Marketing experience is a plus
- Experience in managing Distributors/Wholesalers
- 6-8 years at a Senior Management Level with a FMCG market
- Strong analytical ability for the purposes of trend analysis, interpretation, and forecasting
- Highly adaptive and resilient to effectively shift focus between operational and strategic priorities
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities while managing key stakeholder expectations
- Willingness to get involved in business projects which may be outside immediate scope of this role
- A strategic thinker with the ability to instil confidence and a mindset shift across the internal teams
- Availability for traveling 50% of the time
