Are you an experienced Utilities Administrator looking to advance your career with an established real estate company?

Our client is a reputable real estate investment business listed on the JSE. They specialise in the investment into well positioned commercial, retail and industrial assets both locally and abroad. With capacity in their Johannesburg based team, they are currently looking to appoint a driven, hard-working and experienced Utilities Administrator to join the business. Reporting directly to the Head of Utilities, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Responsible for the accurate, efficient and effective performance of routine administration of municipal accounts
- Timeously and accurately monitor due dates of municipal account payments
- Daily sourcing of municipal accounts
- Timeously log and receive municipal accounts on MDA property system for approval and payment
- Accurate filing of paid municipal accounts
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timelines of Utility recoveries functions for the portfolio
- Ensure accurate monthly meter readings are obtained from the relevant meter companies and ensure all tenants are timeously loaded and billings processed
- Pre-billing check before charges are processed on tenant accounts.
- Ensures that reports, records and related documentation are completed in accordance with Company policies and procedures
- Responsible for opening and closing of accounts at local authorities with monthly follow-ups
- Provide monthly payment schedule indicating timelines on accounts, payment thereof as well as interest occurred due to late payment
- Attending to any billing/tenant/staff queries timeously

To qualify for this position, you will need to have a tertiary diploma/degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Utilities Administration with the commercial property sector. Sound knowledge of MDA property software is not essential but will be advantageous. To succeed in this position, you will need to have strong time management skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meet strict deadlines.
