**Job Purpose**:
To provide a comprehensive primary level nursing service in accordance with the relevant health
legislation and the national plan, within the framework of primary health care and the district
system.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:

- Immunizes children.
- Prepares clients for contraception, Tubal Litigation/Sterilation and Antenatal care.
- Dresses wounds.
- Performs nebulisation.
- Performs oral rehydration.
- Observes clients using diagnostic equipment.
- Admits clients to the clinic.
- Conducts health education/promotion.
- Prepares emergency/treatment room.
- Implements and manages Tuberculosis programme.
- Undertakes administrative activities.
- Promotes and maintains a safe environment.
- Contributes in the management of emergencies.
- Ensures an efficient and effective clinic service.
- Sterilizes instruments used for cervical screening.
- Conducting pre and post HIV conseling.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Matric plus 2 year training course.
- Current enrolment with S.A. Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Valid motor vehicle drivers license (Code B).
- 1 - 24 Months relevant experience.
