**Purpose of the Job**:
The Marketing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the marketing operations team (both promotions and instore) to ensure the successful execution of Divisional and National promotion requirements. This role reports to the Systems and Production Manager and involves handling various tasks related to marketing, administration, and coordination.
This role contributes significantly to the success of marketing campaigns, ensuring that promotional excellence is achieved in alignment with strict timelines and processes. This role is an integral part of the marketing team and offers opportunities for growth and development within the organization.

**Job Objectives**:
National Promo and Production Support: Assist the National Promo and Production teams in managing and executing marketing campaigns by:

- Assist the print production team with instore and printer-related briefs and requirements.
- Open National jobs on the marketing system and update relevant information on the buying system.
- Collaborate with campaign managers and buyers to ensure national point of sale requirements are met and manage the sign-off process.
- Provide general administration support for all national requirements across the Shoprite Group banners.
- Troubleshoot and provide 'solution-driven' inputs to address any challenges that may arise.
- Efficiently prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines and effectively support the team.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 certification - (essential)
- BCom (Marketing) or a similar qualification OR advertising agency experience - (preferred)

**Experience**:

- +2 years’ experience in marketing, advertising or promotions work, or similar, with experience providing general support and coordination to a marketing team - (essential).
- Experience with MS Office, with a key focus on Excel - (essential)
- Experience with retail promotions - (preferred)
- Experience working with print media and digital channels - (preferred)
- Experience using SAP - (preferred)

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Familiarity with different types of systems - (essential)
