- Responsibilities_
- Provide overall oversight in administration, program management, performance monitoring and technical implementation of the EpiC project in South Africa.
- Provide capacity development and mentoring of implementing partners as needed and assist in strengthening partnerships with DOH at national, provincial and district levels and other key stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership in design, development, planning and implementation of project activities and provide technical/SI and operational capacity development support to EpiC sub-partners.
- Provide technical leadership in supporting implementation of evidence-based strategies to ensure successful implementation of the work plan and achievement of the project’s targets and goals.
- Provide on-site technical support to MSM programs on implementing ED-PrEP, social network strategies (SNS), Index testing as main strategies along with others, and integrate newly emerging innovations.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders related to the EpiC South Africa program, including senior leadership within partner organizations to whom EpiC may provide technical/SI and operational capacity development

support.
- Support the development and monitoring of work plans, M&E work plans and budgets as needed.
- Supervise the project team and provide overall program, financial and technical guidance and oversight.
- Oversee production of timely and accurate technical reports to FHI 360 and USAID as required and respond promptly to requests from USAID.
- Requirements_
- Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Public Health or a PhD, MD or similar degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility for designing, implementing, managing, and leading HIV programs. A minimum of five years of experience providing specific technical direction

and oversight of the development and management of HIV programs with MSM.
- Proficient with applicable rules, regulations, and policies associated with international development and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), as well as USAID and PEPFAR.
- Experience providing development support and technical assistance to local implementing partners.
- Experience in supervising technical staff.
- Demonstrated ability through previous experience to liaise with senior government officials, dignitaries, executives of NGOs, FBOs, CBOs, and the for-profit business community, and senior members of the donor community.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English.
- Preference is for South African nationals or expatriate professionals already residing in South Africa. The legal right to work in South Africa is a requirement.
