Market Development Manager, Media

Your role in helping us shape the future: The Market Development Manager, Media leads the development and implementation of a Market Development strategy that supports the Media Business Unit’s overall strategy, long-term vision and revenue goals. Partnering with Corporate Strategy, Innovation, Corporate Development, Business Development and Sales (amongst other groups) and working in close collaboration with other teams within the Media Business Unit, the role’s objective is to identify and secure new business segments, business models, partnerships and inorganic avenues to execute the Media BU strategy and to develop new viable revenue streams.

The Market Development Manager, Media leads the development and implementation of a Market Development strategy that supports the Media Business Unit’s overall strategy, long-term vision and revenue goals.

Partnering with Corporate Strategy, Innovation, Corporate Development, Business Development and Sales (amongst other groups) and working in close collaboration with other teams within the Media Business Unit, the role’s objective is to identify and secure new business segments, business models, partnerships and inorganic avenues to execute the Media BU strategy and to develop new viable revenue streams.

**Are you up to the challenge?**
- Identify opportunities and initiatives supporting the Media BU’s strategic goals
- Lead the identification and pursuit of new strategic relationships across the Media industry that allow to develop new revenue streams or secure complementary capabilities necessary to achieve the Media BU strategy
- Identify eco-system players whose capabilities, skillset and strategic mindset are aligned with Intelsat’s media strategy and assess their strategic and monetary value as partner or investment target
- Define the specific goals
- Articulate and quantify the gain of the value to Intelsat in achieving the relationship
- Define the value proposition that Intelsat delivers to the relationship
- Establish a “relationship mapping/man-marking” of Intelsat personnel to key target personnel
- Organize a communications and “touch” plan as to when Intelsat should engage and communicate the value proposition
- Think outside the box to develop new business models that offer win-win solutions for Intelsat and its Media customers
- Contribute to Intelsat’s attractiveness and brand appeal in the Media space by representing the organization to executive level contacts at outside companies and on professional panels (i.e. conferences).

**You should definitely have**:

- A Bachelor degree with a min of 7 years of relevant experience
- A deep understanding of the Media industry’s entire value chain and of the market trends that underpin the tectonic plate changes the industry is currently undergoing.
- An intimate knowledge of key players in the Media industry.
- Demonstrated success in business development or market development roles
- A mix of commercial and technical knowledge and experience
- Creativity combined with rigor to develop new approaches and business models adapted to the changing market in order to efficiently support the Media BU strategy.
- Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills with demonstrated abilities to establish high level commercial and other appropriate contacts
- Understanding of financials as they relate to the business and the ability to simplify complex financial situations
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently as needed.
