**Purpose of the Job**:
To render appropriate supervision of the South African Capital Markets and monitor compliance with the provisions of the Financial Markets Act, 2012, and related legislation within the framework of the objectives of the department. The person appointed to this position will report to the Manager.

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Assist to Identify and propose changes to regulatory framework and assist the Head of Department with implementation of such changes;
- Assist the Head of Department to develop and maintain an effective and efficient supervisory framework within the context of the approved legislation;
- Assist with the monitoring of compliance with the provisions of the Financial Markets Act and subordinate legislation;
- Assist to plan and conduct on-site inspections with professionalism and the required technical standards;
- Liaise with and render appropriate regulatory guidance to stakeholders after consultation with the senior staff members and the Manager; and
- Attend to administrative duties, including writing reports to management and other stakeholders.

An LLB degree or similar degree, with at least 2 years relevant experience in the financial sector and/or the regulatory environment within the financial services industry. Experience within a financial markets environment, investment banking or similar environment will be a distinct advantage.
