**Role Purpose**

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years pharmacy benefit management experience
- Experience in a leadership role would be an advantage
- Good understanding of medical scheme administration principles and protocols

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Compiling Health Risk Management (HRM), operational and scheme reports.
- Attend internal stakeholder and scheme clinical meetings where required.
- Coaching and supporting the Managed care teams in ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
- Effectively manage performance within the team in order to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational process efficiency across managed care programmes.
- Implement and provide input into governance processes, systems and legislation within area of specialization.
- Provide input into the risk identification processes development and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum.
- Conducting drug utilisation reviews (DUR) in an effective and professional manner.
- Maintaining acceptable productivity levels in the running of the programme.
- Reviewing and updating clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Assisting in the concept ualisation,planning and implementation of new managed care products.
- Providing clinical support for Disease Management programme and other internal departments as required.
