Job overview
The researcher economic
- and enterprise
- development will be responsible for research relating to the composition, health, news and opportunities of the Western Cape economic eco-system. The purpose is to strengthen the WC economic
- and enterprise-development eco-systems. This includes working with key stakeholders in the Western Cape economic eco-system, to work smarter to deepen insight into systemic issues and identifying impediments to unlock for faster growth.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work with stakeholder network to map out and model the WC economic eco-system.
Desk
- and primary-research to deepen insight into various facets of the economy.
Contribute to strengthening of evidence-based decision-making practices.
Utilise big data in partnership with stakeholders to generate innovative new insights.
Develop models, dashboards and other visualisation methods that make it easy for decision makers to understand the economy, issues there-in and how interventions may work.
Contribute to various technical reports based on research conducted.
Support stakeholder groups to deepen their insight into the WC economy.
Contribute content to the Chamber’s Business Today newsletter.
Ensure the Chamber’s website and other communications provides quality and accurate information.

**Qualifications**:
Desk research (two years)
Primary research (two years)
Focus group and or Workshop facilitation
Technical report writing (two years)
Knowledge management (two years)
Content writing for websites and social media (two years)
Effective communication of findings and recommendations.
Working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Stakeholder relationship management.
