Business Controller

Right now, we have an exciting job opening for a Business controller/Financial Director in our offices in Irene, Pretoria. **What´s in it for you?** Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead a very small team at Volvo Cars South Africa (VCSA). You will have a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Business Controller for the EMEA region located in Sweden and will provide direct access to the global company resources and expertise and support needed to take the South African organization to the next level. The Financial Director plans direct and coordinates the development of short and long-range business objectives, and is responsible for driving the profitability of the company and achievement of the organization’s financial goals. At the same time, this is a role where you also will be very operational and hands-on. **What will you do?** In your role as Financial Director, in cooperation with the Spain Global Financial Operations cluster and as a member of the Management team, you will be responsible for all financials and operational results of the business. You will prepare and submit all budgets, forecasts, and business plans and drive the profitability of the company through the development of price strategies, incentive plans, revenue management and cost control. You will analyse performance and submit variance analysis and financial reporting and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization's financial structure. Your other duties will involve forecasting cash receipts and disbursements, and ensuring adequate cash is available to run the business. To ensure implementation, you will review and maintain internal controls to ensure full protection of the company’s assets. You will supervise the review and filing of tax reviews and be involved in compliance-related activities. Lastly, you will monitor and drive the improvement of dealer network profitability and represent the organization in its relationships. **Do you fit the profile?** We believe you have an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting, CA(SA)/CIMA membership would be meritorious. You should have financial management experience, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance and Accounting, covering a broad spectrum of responsibilities. Knowledge of South African financial laws and regulations and compliance-related experience are required for this role. It is beneficial with experience in the use of SAP and Hyperion. **Who are you?** As a person, you are humble and unpretentious, with a hands-on approach to your work and to problem-solving.
