Traffic Manager

Octane Marketing is seeking an experienced and proactive **Traffic Manager** to join their internal marketing team in **Tokai**. This is an **in-office role**, suited to a highly organised individual with a solid background in managing creative workflows, marketing tickets, and internal job trafficking - ideally using **Jira Software**.

You will be responsible for coordinating requests across the business and ensuring effective scheduling and delivery through our creative and copywriting teams. Your role will be crucial in keeping stakeholders informed, teams on track, and ensuring quality output within deadline and scope.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the intake, triage, prioritisation, and distribution of all marketing-related work requests via Jira Software
- Manage daily workflows and job allocation for the internal creative and copywriting teams
- Track the status of jobs through the pipeline, ensuring deadlines are met and workloads are balanced
- Identify bottlenecks and proactively reassign or escalate tasks to meet delivery timelines
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop clear, comprehensive briefs and ensure creative requirements are well-defined from the outset
- Facilitate clear communication between requesting departments and creative teams
- Coordinate review and approval cycles, ensuring timely feedback and mínimal rework
- Implement and refine traffic management processes to improve efficiency and turnaround times
- Set up and manage Jira boards, workflows, tickets, and reports for the marketing department
- Monitor task progress and generate regular reports to track team performance and job status
- Collaborate with internal Jira administrators (if applicable) to ensure system functionality and optimisation for marketing needs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing project timelines and status updates
- Confidently engage with senior staff across departments to clarify briefs, negotiate deadlines, and manage expectations
- Maintain strong professional relationships and communicate with diplomacy, urgency, and clarity
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Traffic Manager, Project Manager, or Workflow Coordinator within a marketing, advertising, or creative environment
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
- Demonstrable experience using Jira Software to manage and track creative projects
- Agency experience is highly advantageous
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
- A keen creative eye with the ability to understand and speak the language of designers and copywriters
- Exceptional attention to detail in project specs, deadlines, and briefs
- A true people's person - able to manage conversations with senior stakeholders, balance competing priorities, and navigate sensitive deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to develop clear and concise creative briefs
- A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Chase or MS Project is advantageous
