Job Description: Technical Content Specialist (Level I)

Key Accountabilities:
Preparation of new products, updating and maintaining databases for all electronic publications

These will include the following broad categories for local and international content: Law Reports, Legislation, Journals and Commentaries.

The preparation of the products will follow the New Product schedule, Work-in-Progress schedule and the Weekly Statutes Control Sheet.

The necessary citations will need to be inserted into the product once the data preparation is completed. The process will vary from manual to fully automated based on the nature of the publication.

The product will be checked for styling and citations. Errors corrected and the product may need to be rebuilt. This process will continue until all errors have been corrected.

The updated product is then to be built, checked, and corrected if necessary and then presented for the purposes of online publishing.

The products will then be signed off as a quality control measure.

Assist with the preparation of new and existing online products using Text\HTML\XML editors, including the Fabrication Pipeline

Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge of XML Editors such as Oxygen XML Editor

Knowledge of HTML, XML, XSLT and XSDs

At least 5 years previous experience in data preparation for publishing purposes

Proven ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines

Proven ability to work on more than one project at the same time

MUST be able to work well under pressure

Exceptional language and grammar proficiency

Good communication/interpersonal skills

Professional attitude/manner

Able to work independently with minimum supervision

Must be willing to work overtime if necessary

Willing to accept instruction

Positive work attitude (willing to learn new software)

Must be organized

Must be available to attend meetings that may fall out of the normal working hours (USA Team)

Must be efficient in everyday work (handling big data)
