Minimum of 10 years’ experience required in medium/Larger enterprise;
- A minimum of a university degree in preferably Human Resources, B.Com. (Psychology);
- Deep understanding of relevant legislation and policy, with demonstrated knowledge and experience in Employment Equity and Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE), including DTI Codes of Good Practice, Sector Charters.
- Excellent project management, and report writing skills;
- Proven ability to manage complex data with advanced Excel/other relevant skills;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and engage stakeholders on all levels with good verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated and proven track record to lead/ participate in multidisciplinary teams under constantly changing and complex environments; and
- Experience in strategy definition and operational planning;

The Employment Equity (EE) Leader contributes to the organizational goals by assisting senior management in the implementation of the company’s transformation strategy. This includes being responsible for EE administration and ensuring company compliance to the EE legislation. This person will also play a key role in the bigger inclusion, diversity and equity strategy, ensuring that Amazon not only meets compliance requirements, but continuously increase representation and inclusion of all employees.
Key job responsibilities
- Prepare and implement Employment Equity (EE) plans for South African Amazon entities which will achieve progress towards our equity goals.
- Assuming primary responsibility for the formulation and monitoring of the EE strategy for each of Amazon’s Business Units in South Africa, including tracking progress against EE targets and communicating monthly updates to leadership teams.
- Collaborate and manage activities of all relevant stakeholders, including senior managers, responsible for all monitoring and implementing the plan. Ensure robust programs are developed in partnership with leaders and rolled-out across all business units.
- Compile Annual report which must be submitted to the Depart of Employment and Labour containing the prescribed information and deadlines.
- Responsible for Management Control pillar under B-BBEE, including the data management, exceptions processes, stakeholder management, and all other relevant tasks.
- Create monthly and quarterly reports to proactively assess employment trends and to evaluate progress of designated employees within occupational levels.
- Identify and mitigate any potential risks to the group’s EE plans and the implementation thereof.
- Participate actively in the development and implementation of affirmative action measures.
- Keep abreast of current and evolving regulatory landscape thereby ensuring legislative compliance. Actively participate in external forums to inform and partner with key stakeholders on topics related to Employment Equity.
- Post-Graduate Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related preferred;
- You should not only be passionate about delivering meaningful transformation solutions but obsessed with rigorous goal-setting, continuous process improvement, and taking others on a learning journey.
- Ability to access and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, address partner concerns, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs as they implement specific guidance around the transformation program execution is critical.
