Our client has a national footprint that specializes in the innovative operation and management methods of coal fired Boiler plants on behalf of Industrial users, require the skills and expertise of a Construction Manager.

**Position: Construction Manager - Industrial Energy Industry**

**Location: Johannesburg**

**Salary: Market related depending on qualification and experience**

**Start date: ASAP**

**Period: Fixed Term Contract (6 / 12-month contract)**

**Introduction**
Our client has a national footprint that specializes in the innovative operation and management methods of coal fired Boiler plants on behalf of Industrial users, require the skills and expertise of a Construction Manager.

**Position Overview**

**Requirements**:

- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant qualification within the field from a recognised institution.
- Min 5 years project / construction management experience preferred.
- Previous experience in managing engineering projects will be an advantage.
- Previous construction management experience preferred.
- Fair understanding of the OHS Act, in particular, Construction Regulations.
- Experience with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 5001 compliance will be advantageous.
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
- Willing to work extended hours and travel at short notice as the need arise.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion.
- Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Review the work progress on daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Track and report on project costs to budget.
- Monitor and manage the project timing plan and take appropriate action as necessary.
- Maintain a project file that documents all aspects of the project.
- Communicate regularly to the various project stakeholders.
