**Head of Human Capital.**
**Purpose of the role**:
The Regional HR Business Partner, reporting to the Head of Human Capital, is responsible for providing HR
services, advice, and support to the region's functional leadership teams, as well as supporting and advising
employees in accordance with Herotel's practices, policies, procedures, and remuneration and benefits. The
HRBP will act as a partner to the Western HUB and a member of the great Human Capital team and will be
relied up on to contribute to the wider team and provide an efficient and professional support service in the
region. Due to the nature of the industry and company the HRBP must travel between branches and work sites
and be prepared to perform hands on day-to-day HR support.
**Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to**:
**Sourcing, Recruitment, onboarding and offboarding**
- Proactively source and recruit employees, in accordance with Herotel's policies and employment equity plan,
including drafting and placing of advertisements, shortlisting, scheduling, and conducting interviews, issuing
employment contract, and conducting reference checks.
- Engage with and visit local learning institutions to form partnerships, promote Herotel as a preferred employer,
with the objective of attracting talent.
- Implementing an effective and documented onboarding programme for new employees, to be implemented
in conjunction with team leaders and management. The prgramme should include arranging for uniforms,
equipment, applicable medical testing, health and safety procedures, scheduling, arranging relevant training,
and ensuring that employees are aware of Herotel's policies, procedures, terms and condition of employment,
and safe work practices.
- Ensure that the correct procedures are followed when employees' leave Herotel's employment, including
accurate and timeous submission of records and information to payroll, systems and other relevant
departments.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Implement initiatives with HUB management to ensure that employees remain engaged, through promoting
Herotel's culture and values, career development and a positive employment experience, proving guidance
and support through the employee journey.
**Payroll, Administration and Reporting**
- Ensure all new employees are processed on the payroll (Payspace) system according to the relevant
procedures and processes.
- Process all employee transactions and administration relating to transfers, promotions, changes to personal
information, etc.
- Support employee payroll and HR queries, issue UI.19s, and confirmations of employment.
- Ensure that up to date and accurate employee records are maintained and safely stored.
- Compile monthly and ad hoc reporting relating to employees', as required.
**HR advisory and Employee Relations**
Engage regularly through MOS meetings with HUB management to understand their needs and provide just
in time and proactive advice regarding all HR related matters.
- Facilitate the resolution of employee grievances.
- Provide professional and reliable advice to employees and management regarding Herotel's HR policies,
procedures, practices, employee benefits, relating to talent management, employee relations, learning and
development and compliance with employment law.
- Remain up to date and advise on labour relations matters, including unions.
- Present Herotel at CCMA cases and advise on disciplinary procedures, investigations, drafting of charges
and CCMA matter preparation.
- Remain up to date with HR best practice and employment law.
**Learning and Development**
- Training incorporates health and safety related training (e.g., working at heights and firefighting), on-the-job
practical and technical training, functional training (e.g., splicing training), and training provided through
Herotel's learning Academy.
- Develop and annual training plan (WSP/ATR and skills development programmes) including compiling a
regional training budget, in conjunction with regional management, facilitate and report on implementation of
the plan.
- Co-ordinate and oversee career development discussion processes and ensure that employees' have a
development plan, are aware of their career paths and provide support in scheduling training, as well as
hands on support, for example with reviewing portfolios of evidence, etc.
- Proactively plan, coordinate and report on all skills initiatives as per programme requirements.
**Employment Equity**
- Responsible for acting as the region's Employment Equity manager and the achievement of the region's
employment equity targets, training and development plans, affirmative action measures, adherence to
Herotel's Employment Equity Pl
