The POPIA Officer’s function is to assist the Senior Legal and Compliance Officer in the successful implementation of this large company’s POPIA Project, in alignment with their Maturity Plan.
You will need to have held a position as a POPIA Officer for a minimum of 1 year and have the formal training on POPIA
You will define the Privacy Strategic Framework and drive implementation of this throughout the business and conduct regular privacy compliance reviews. You will also need to define training requirements and drive the delivery of this.
You will be overseeing compliance with Privacy legislation and regulations. As well as the implementation of Privacy Compliance Programmes as defined and overseeing the Privacy Programme, especially as it pertains to business processes.
You will be supporting the Deputy Information Officer on Privacy compliance matters through ongoing reporting of Privacy matters to relevant committees. The identification, storage, protection, retrieval, and disposal of Personal Information in line with the Privacy policies, procedures and processes defined is part of your duties.
You must be computer literate and be an analytical thinker. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
