Role Purpose:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, execution and successful completion of multiple projects within the mining industry. Your expertise in
engineering, project management and mineral processing will be instrumental in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Areas of Responsibility:

- Project planning: develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets and resource allocation, in collaboration with the project team.
- Project execution: lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, subcontractors, to ensure project milestones are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Mineral processing focus: leverage your experience in mineral processing to provide technical guidance and solutions throughout project development, ensuring optimal processing efficiency and product quality.
- Sales and key account management: collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities and engage with key clients. Maintain and nurture relationships with key accounts to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Problem solving: work closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and provide innovative engineering solutions that align with their business objectives
- Budget management: monitor project budgets, control costs and implement strategies to mitigate risks and keep projects financially viable.
- Risk assessment: Identify potential project risks, develop risk mitigation plans, and take proactive steps to minimize project disruptions.
- Regulatory compliance: ensure all projects adhere to relevant industry regulations, environmental standards and safety protocols.
- Stakeholder communication: maintain clear and effective communication with clients, team members and stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
- Quality assurance: implement quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards.

Education, knowledge and skills:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - Chemical, Metallurgical, Mechanical
- Project management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
- Minimum 6 years’ work experience
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed within SA and globally
- Customer relationship management
- Track record of successful project and client managemen
