Cold Chain Manager

We are looking for a reliable Cold Chain Manager to be responsible for the freezer. The purpose is to perform a variety of duties associated with managing a warehouse freezer and inclusive but not confined to the managing of picking, stock transfers, deviation reporting, pre-loading vehicles, cage allocation, supervising staff and document flow.

The goal is to manage the freezer so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.
- Meets Warehouse / Distribution operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews, implementing productivity and quality standards, resolving problems, identifying warehouse improvements.
- The incumbent must have the relevant experience to successfully perform duties normally associated with function of a Cold Chain Manager e.g. timely vehicle dispatch, lock up, etc.
- Management of the storing, picking, stock rotation and caging activities within the warehouse Freezer
- Maintains storage area by organising floor space, adhering to storage design principles and recommending improvements.
- Maintain inventory.
- Assists with periodic inventory counts (Stock Take), reconciling variances, inputting data and performing tasks as directed.
- Accomplish Freezer human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching and counselling employees, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising contributions, recommending compensation actions and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints
- Ensuring that pick is done timeously and that there is no cross picks or shorts/extras and making sure that pickers handle product carefully to avoid damages
- Submit RCL claim forms should there be any discrepancies with regards to short deliveries cross and damaged stock, and that relevant departments are informed of the issues.
- **Opening and closing of warehouse when required and be a Standby for issues at Warehouse and Freezer**
- Daily stock counts in Freezer and updating system and Ensuring Pickers are briefed with regards to pick and Ensuring damages are at a mínimal
- Damaged stock are repaired if possible or sent to Damage location and ensure that Receiving of stock is accurate.
- Ensuring that all returns are done daily and back to stocks are done without delays and Monitor replenishments and stock checks
- Monitor Fridge temperatures 24/7 and ensuring the Freezer is running at optimal operation and arrange technicians should there be any issues with the compressors or pumps
- Loading of vehicles in morning (04H30) and Daily loading of RD's as well as Scanning of product temperatures when loading in morning
- Monitoring Housekeeping daily
- Loading of specials and liquor orders daily when needed

**_Qualifications: -_**
- Tertiary qualification in accordance with an appropriate behavioural competency profile.

**_Experience: -_**
- Monitor and manage client relationships and service levels.
- Operations / Warehouse Management Experience.
- Must have WMS and Frozen Foods / Cold Chain experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the FMCG industry.

- An energetic self-starter with proactive skills.
- Clear and definite communication ability with regards to clients, drivers and superiors.
- Business Communication and Understanding.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- WMS and Pastel experience beneficial.
- Must be able to work independently and accept a high level of responsibility.
- Data analysis.

**_COMPETENCIES: -_**
- A clear understanding of the Supply and Cold Chain either through study or experience.
- Clear and definite communication ability with regards to clients, drivers and superiors (written and verbal).
- An intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to maintain and understand data.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R25,000.00 - R28,000.00 per month
