**POSITION BASED IN PORT SHEPSTONE**
A really exciting hands-on role exists for a strong, seasoned Marketing manager. We are looking for your marketing expertise to take the brand to new heights. You will be actively responsible for developing the marketing goals, together with the strategic leaders of the business, to create business success. You will be expected to meet growth objectives and achieve key financial plan targets for the business. You will partner with senior stakeholders in the business to align the company around the brand’s direction, choices and tactics
**Someone with 5 to 10 years experience and working at a senior level in marketing/advertising**:
- Fluent in English.
- Demonstrated alignment with the culture and values of the business.
- Extensive experience in marketing and digital
- Proven track record working in Brand/Marketing within retail, food or FMCG
- A self-starter who is looking to play their part in carving out the marketing department for the business.
- Driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly interested and engaged with current and future digital technologies and utilising different point of sale and digital marketing channels.
- Detailed knowledge of databases and business information.
- Relevant and complete marketing and digital qualifications.
- Proven success in leading, developing, implementing marketing and digital strategies within a controlled budget environment.
- Solid experience developing campaigns to drive customer engagement, revenue and profit.
- Experience with media negotiations to amplify the media budget.
- Understanding of the full customer journey, from search, to website/in-store, to purchase.
- Exceptional inter-personal, planning, management and communication skills.
**In this role, some of your core responsibilities will involve**:
- Planning, implementing and managing marketing strategies, while taking performance ownership
- Innovating process and structure across the marketing function in the business
- Working with technical departments/ stakeholders to improve the business' understanding of the customer
- Establishing KPIs for the marketing department and track performance and outputs accordingly
- Providing strong rationales for marketing strategies to make evidence-based decisions
- Managing and tracking the marketing budget and spend
- Building clear and focused annual marketing plans
**Additionally**:
- Presenting marketing reports and key metrics to senior stakeholders in the business
- Negotiating big brand and corporate partnerships with third-party companies
- Managing all partner relationships, including brands and influencer/ambassador personalities
**Skills**:
- At least 5 to 10 years experience as an Marketing Manager,
- An understanding of the supermarket and wholesale retail industry.
- Experience designing multi-media content for a retail brand is essential.
- A portfolio that demonstrates fluency in the visual language, packaging design, retail design, web design, styling, photoshoot direction, video shoot art direction and artwork creation for social media.
- Strong typographic skills.
- A well-rounded understanding of all social platforms.
- Strong project management, communication and organisation skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work efficiently under pressure and stay calm.
- Ability to work alone and extremely well in a team.
- Positive, forward-thinking person.
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience with digital design across all channels; web design; designing for e-commerce websites; animation and social media design
- Experience in high-volume environments with fast turn-arounds preferred
- Strong conceptual ability preferred
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Critical thinker with creative flair
- A powerful creative portfolio that demonstrates originality, innovation and problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, utilise resources, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within scope
- Strong interpersonal skills; a team player, persuasive negotiator, positive and innovative thinker
- Maintain high standards for execution and attention to detail
- Highly motivated and a high level of initiative; ability to work independently, in support of the company’s goals and the client’s business objectives

- Experience in presenting campaigns to creative heads and clients
- Experience working on various brands across various LSMs advantageous
**Technical skills/knowledge**:
- Web design (landing pages, web banners, etc.)
- HTML (basic understanding)
- Figma
- Art Direction - both Digital and BTL
- Animation (proficiency with Premier Pro or After Effects)
- Digital design across all online channels
- Social Media and Paid Media design experience
- UX and UI Design (basic understanding)
