Key job responsibilities
Oversee and deliver the implementation of the PR Strategy for PV Africa. The role is responsible for the planning and delivery of proactive PR campaigns, events, issues management, media relations and talent relations for Prime Video Africa, with the ultimate objective of establishing Prime Video as a premium entertainment destination. This role works closely with the Prime Video business, (marketing, business affairs, legal etc) and content, including the content acquisition team (CAM) and Amazon Studios, as well as PV leadership and other Worldwide Communications areas such as consumer retail and devices. Be a trusted partner for the business; offering recommendations and solid issues management The Head of PV PR Africa is essential in providing recommendations in these instances, as well as being able to manage talent, partners and crises. The role requires someone who is able to look around corners, show good judgment and act quickly and decisively, escalating local concerns quickly, offering proactive solutions, and coordinating across country and business teams. The role explores the most impactful opportunities for leaders to engage with media, preparing messaging and managing executive interviews for regional leadership. Deliver PR campaigns for local and global content The role supports and implements multi-layered PR strategies around global, regional and local content that have clear, measurable and targeted success criteria, ensuring that they and the team are thinking big and delivering results to high standards. They lead on presenting plans and results to senior business leaders, and own regular communication with an established network of industry and media contacts. The role requires an innate ability to think big, earn trust of talent, and create and execute events relating to content on Prime Video, such as press interviews with talent, set visits, and activations.

About the team
The EMEA PV PR team is responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of proactive communications campaigns, events, issues management, media relations, and talent relations for the Prime Video (PV) brand, service and content, including global and local original and exclusive TV shows and movies across the region. Our teams (in UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, NOR, BENELUX, CEE and MENA) work in close partnership with leaders to support and deliver PR strategies that improve Prime Video’s position, credibility, and engagement in the broader TV and film industry, and engage new and existing customers with PV. Our teams have multiple skillsets, spanning several PR functions, including Corporate PR, Consumer PR/Show Publicity, Product PR, Events Management and Talent Relations and we work with stakeholders across multiple business functions including Marketing, Originals, Content Acquisition, Public Policy and Legal.
