As a **Metals Buyer** at Saint-Gobain, you will play a critical role in strategically sourcing and managing the procurement of metals and related materials, ensuring that the organization maximizes value while supporting its operational and production needs. Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and executing sourcing strategies to optimize the purchase of metals, ensuring the right quality, quantity, price, and delivery timelines.
- Building and maintaining a robust and reliable supply base to mitigate risk and support business continuity.
- Managing supplier relationships, including negotiation of terms, pricing, and the use of financial instruments like letters of credit (LOCs) and bank guarantees.
- Leveraging SAP MRP data and internal stakeholder input to place, expedite, and reconcile purchase orders efficiently.
- Leading or contributing to projects that drive cost efficiencies, supplier innovation, and overall procurement excellence.
- Monitoring supply risks and implementing proactive mitigation strategies to avoid disruptions.
- Logging and resolving claims with suppliers while ensuring adherence to Saint-Gobain’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Continuously updating and analyzing budgets, sourcing portfolios, and KPI performance data to inform decision-making.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams locally and globally to align on strategic goals and deliverables.

The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for acquiring the best product at the best price from suppliers and ensuring the availability, control, and purchase of raw materials and consumables as needed by production. Responsible in dealing with company resources. The role will require someone who has knowledge of administration and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products.
