**Purpose**: To supervise & carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Oversee internal and external projects, manage maintenance spares and budget, & drive continuous improvement in machine up time.

**Experience and Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance foreman/Millwright, working in a manufacturing environment, preferable automotive industry
- Must have supervisory experience
- Preferably have PLC and Project Management experience
- Must be Trade Tested
- Must be willing to work excess hours when required
- Must be in possession of a school leaving Certificate
- Must have a high level of experience
- Must be hands on

**Key Performance Areas**
- Supervise the work unit to achieve work unit objectives
- Determine resources (labour and materials) required and allocate overtime work
- Analyse and interpret Planned Maintenance Reports (Hours per department, hours per Artisan, etc.)
- Analyse and interpret Breakdown Reports (Manufacturing downtime, top-10, etc.)
- Assist in developing and managing new product introductions
- Compile and supervise the Preventive Maintenance Programme according to the maintenance requirements for machines and equipment and maintain preventative maintenance system on daily/weekly & monthly basis in order to report on maintenance KPI’s
- Supervises the carrying out of breakdown repairs with the focus on achieving ZERO breakdowns.
- Escalate the problem to the next level if it cannot be resolved successfully
- Inform/advise Management of any breakdowns of a serious nature or where any potential equipment failure & safety risks are imminent.
- Facilitate the process of ordering replacement parts.
- Technologies
- Facilitate & manage process of automating machinery - where possible.
- Facilitate & manage PLC programming/controlling of machinery.
- Ensure uptime of all machines
- Engineering Projects
- Oversee projects from Initiation to execution.
- Project Planning
- Schedule internal and external project activities & initiatives to facilitate effective project execution
- Project Management:

- Manage implementation of both Product and Engineering Projects - internal and external.
- Project Administration
- Implement project administration processes according to requirements
- Continuous Improvement
- Analyse Maintenance Reports and identify opportunities for improvements
- Report maintenance KPI’s on monthly basis.
