LifeQ is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Data Scientist to be part of the Science team.

The Senior Data Scientist will report directly to the company’s Chief Scientist and will be responsible for the development of models and algorithms based on real time physiological data streams and other physiological, behavioural, and environmental metrics. R&D work must be conducted following a well-designed scientific process with the final goal of implementing the solution according to a product specification. Applications will involve extracting physiologically relevant information from signals (mostly from wearable devices) and building models from extracted features to predict or characterize certain physiological states (sleep, stress, exercise, health risk, etc.). This position requires a strong drive to develop a quantitative understanding of the latest developments in public health studies and published models and to translate this knowledge into innovative algorithms and research outputs.

**Responsibilities**

Research and Development
- Conduct literature & data driven research & clearly capture/document information to promote knowledge transfer & understanding of the research objective.
- Follow proper scientific methodology to develop algorithms or mathematical models & thoroughly validate these models (this includes but is not limited to testing assumptions & limitations, assessing bias & variance of the model, etc.).
- Ensure that all assumptions & limitations are clearly communicated to all relevant parties & are captured in the required documentation.
- Contribute to the productization of the models, i.e., envisioning how the model outputs can be packaged & presented to users, as well as anticipating & resolving possible friction points from a user’s perspective & user education.

Software development
- Create and maintain any code produced for models, algorithms, or data analysis on internal repositories.
- Follow best practices relating to collaborative coding and version control.

Competence development
- Continuously improve relevant skills to meet the evolving demands of novel projects.
- Build on multi-disciplinary knowledge to enable teamwork and collaboration with various teams within the organization.

**Required Skills**:

- At least 3 years relevant industry experience in data science related work (data cleaning and manipulation, feature engineering, modeling, predictive analytics, etc.).
- General programming experience, optimally in Python, and use of version control (Git).
- Life and/or Medical Science
- Machine Learning and/or Big Data
- Any Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics-related field
