**Main purpose of the job**:

- To recruit eligible and willing participants for the study

**Location**:

- **Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Soweto - Johannesburg**

**Key performance areas**:

- Build trust between the community and the study
- Recruit eligible participants
- Train participants in terms of the study and anticipated outcomes
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly recruitment reports
- Conduct follow-up visits or telephone calls
- Understand the clinic environment and adapt to changes
- Build and maintain relationships with the clinic staff
- Perform field work activities as required

**Required minimum education and training**:

- **Certificate in Enrolled Nursing**

**Required minimum work experience**:

- **1 year of experience working at clinics around Soweto**

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

- Able to work in a complex and demanding environment
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience working in clinical trials
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Established links with key stakeholders in a high-risk population
- Must possess strong organizational skills
- Must be detailed oriented
- Must be able to work in a team and independently
