**THE JOB AT A GLANCE**

As a Payments Manager, you will be responsible for effective leadership of the payments team, accountable for the efficient and effective service delivery of payments processing, regular and accurate reconciliations, effective customer and stakeholder management and accurate financial reporting.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**

**Payments Management**
- Ensure management of direct debits, from set up to matching payments against invoices
- Ensure supplier accounts, pensions payments, funeral benefits and commission payments are paid; are accurate and regularly reconciled at month and year end
- Ensure payments and receipts for operational and client transactions are processed timely, accurately within daily cut off times and deadlines
- Ensure that reconciliation items are investigated and cleared in a timely manner
- Proactively research new payment methods and solutions with a view of achieving more streamlined process and/or improved customer experience
- Identify exceptions to processes, such as failure to perform payment instructions and breaches
- Actively seek ways of improving process efficiency, implementing industry best practice, and identifying cost saving initiatives

**Team Management**:

- Adhere to the RMA values and polices and consistently behave in an honest and ethical way
- Supervise and lead the Payments team
- Identify performance gaps within the payments team; coach and assist team members with the development and implementation of their personal development plans
- Create awareness of the payments policies and processes within the broader RMA team
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork within and between teams
- Serve as coach, mentor, and positive role model
- Assist with the recruitment, development. performance management, coaching, and counselling of the team

**Customer and Stakeholder Relations**:
**Accurate and Timely Reporting**:

- Ensure payment and receipt information is accurately loaded onto General Ledger ensuring accurate Financial Reports
- Ensure Fixed asset register is updated and necessary documentation supporting FA register is authorised and reconciled

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Comply with and ensure compliance to all governance measures and legislative requirements

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?**
- NQF Level 7 - Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting degree
- Minimum 5 - 7 years in management role
- Experience in implementing systems that are comprehensive include payments solutions and clearing solutions.
