The Financial Controller oversees the Company’s day-to-day activities and ensures the Company’s finance function is organised and efficient and produces accurate financial and management accounts.

**Position of the job in the organisation**:
**Principal responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows
- Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
- Preparation of monthly group P&L and balance sheet
- Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports
- Statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues
- Support Financial Manager with the cash flow process
- Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained for all payments.
- Preparation of VAT returns (assisted by accounting team on a contract basis within the regions mentioned)
- Correspondence with SARS to resolve pending tax queries
- Any other job duties associated with this role.

**PERSON DESCRIPTION**

**Experience**:

- Previous financial control and management reporting experience
- Proven experience of 2-3 years of progressive financial responsibility must be shown
- Accounting experience in a medium sized company
- Use of all Microsoft Office packages, in particular, Intermediate Excel Skills
- Good communication skills - to be able to interpret financial data
- Have an understanding of VAT and Tax principles A financial certification or qualification is to your advantage

**What Does Success Look Like?**

**By month 3**:
I will have familiarised myself with the Finance policies and processes.

**By month 6**:
I am able to produce all required financial reports within the required timelines.

**By month 12**:
I am able to fully support my Financial Manager in all areas of finance.
