Production Team Leader

**Key Performance Areas**:
- Adherence to production plan (SKU availability to meet customer requirements and OEE targets)
- Manage authorised and unauthorised down-time/OEE
- Generate packaging and raw material pick-lists
- Manage and ensure cost-effective labour usage
- Stock and waste control
- Cost control
- Conduct & Facilitate Stock Take
- Safety health and environment Incident and accident investigation
- Safety meeting attendance and reporting
- Safety and quality compliance with legislative requirements
- Implement and maintain Food Safety regulations, GMP management and SHEQ practices
- Quality Control (Product conforms to specifications & adhere to process parameters)
- Lead green area meetings
- Ensure IR procedures are complied with (e.g. absenteeism, poor work performance, etc.)
- Develop, train and motivate the production team
- Production administration i.e. Bestime management, detailed timesheet management, production system, Shopware administration, etc.
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement
**Minimum Requirements**:
**Experience**:
- At least 2 years’ Production/Operations/Manufacturing Management experience in an Unionised FMCG environment.
- Previous management experience within Food Manufacturing would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience with Extrusion, fryers & High-Speed Packaging Machinery would be highly advantageous
- Minimum 2 years experience in TPM / WCM / Lean manufacturing role within the FMCG
- Minimum 2 years experience production supervisory role as well as a support function to production facilitating continuous improvements initiatives.
- Solid communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to effectively develop and/or train employees across all levels within the area of responsibility.
**Qualifications**:
- Completed tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Science degree (Engineering) or equivalent in an FMCG environment.
- Must have a sound Mechanical qualification or background

- Good working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
- Good knowledge of SHEQ and Continuous Improvement
- Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Experience in SAP Manufacturing & HR will be an added advantage.
- LRA
- OHSAS18000 or related safety system will be an added advantage
- Sound knowledge and understanding of WCM or TPM
- Management Information Systems such as Wonderware or Shopware or Scada
- Driver License 08
