Reporting to the Marketing Manager you will be required to drive the development of strong brand equity and big portfolio ideas that deliver positive scale to the business. Objectively assess marketplace and business conditions to develop recommendations that support the long-term strategic direction of the brand.
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing.
- A minimum of 4 years of marketing experience within a branded FMCG company.
- Proven track record in Managing brands
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Assertive.
- Ability to work under pressure and must be willing to travel.
Key Result Areas
- Assist in driving the development of portfolio strategy and business model for the next 1-3 years in line with overall business strategy.
- Development and delivery of the portfolio Annual Brand Plan to achieve volume, share, and penetration targets and to drive brand equity aligned with business objectives.
- Manage marketing research and consumer insights on the portfolio.
- Objectively assess marketplace and business conditions to develop recommendations that support the long-term strategic direction of the portfolio.
- Manage the innovation pipeline of the portfolio to deliver growth targets.
- Identify, gain approval and manage new product and/or brand development projects which will satisfy consumer needs.
- Represent the marketing function for project execution meetings to ensure on-time and in-budget delivery of activities.
- Prepare and gain approval for annual expenditure budgets.
- Manage budgets throughout the year to deliver on the plan.
- Initiate, lead and manage product activities under the assigned portfolio.
- Manage all aspects of brand communication including:
- briefing and managing advertising agencies to ensure effective brand advertising campaigns are developed, produced and implemented on time as per the brand plan
- providing effective consumer promotional strategies that are relevant to the market overall and are in line with the annual operating plan.
- Manages the creation and development of marketing materials, displays, packaging, sample packs, giveaways and other collateral.
- Build and manage critical relationships
