Production Manager

**The Role**
Responsible for managing and coordinating direct reports and manufacturing activities, utilizing systems knowledge of product function, WCM methodology, procedures and machine and equipment capabilities.

Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing facility including overseeing plant production, materials, equipment and tools to ensure efficiency is maintained and projects remain on schedule.

Maximise Yield; OEE; TE; EHS and minimise unplanned stops, breakdowns and HERCAs through continuous improvement methods, technology, equipment and materials and partnership with key stakeholders.

**Requirements**:

- Degree (BSC, B.Eng. Chemical / Electrical / Industrial / Mechanical)
- World Class Manufacturing Autonomous Maintenance Practitioner
- 5 years’ experience in a Production or Process discipline in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
- 3 years’ experience in a management/leadership role.
- Computer Literacy: MS Office & SAP
- Use of Web based data management systems (GXO, DMS)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Application of AM Improvement Projects
- Management of the Autonomous Maintenance Pillar
- Application of 5s Improvement Projects
- Application of basic tools (OPLs, SOPs, Tags, QKs, EWO’s, etc)
- Knowledge of and can work within ISO9000 ISO14000 and OSHAS18000 systems.

**Additional Requirements**
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of all tools, equipment, and resources; ensure compliance with established Weber policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with EHS and Weber regulations and guidelines to uphold quality expectations of customer and company
- Partner with EHS Manager to effectively communicate and enforce a safety culture in daily operations.
- Identify training and development opportunities for production foreman and their teams and monitor progress against KPIs.
- Manage workforce planning to ensure proper staffing levels to maintain productivity (i.e., order readiness, customer specs, speed trails, etc.)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and monitor all control procedures, recommending improvements to the Plant Manager as appropriate
- Ensure all Weber standards and customer commitments (i.e., safety, waste reductions, output, etc are followed within the plant.
- Develop strong relationships with key members of the organization to better understand the overall business and Policy deployment
- Partner with the Warehouse to ensure production is delivered on time in full as per the demand plan to ensure delivery of the required level of Customer Service.
- Maintain working relationship with the union.
- Assume position of the plasterboard workshop 8.2. Supervisory appointment.
- Identify the Capital Investment Projects required to deliver the Production workshop Budget & Long Range Plan.
- Lead, coach and develop your direct reports in order to increase their capability, commitment, drive and performance output so that the organization reaches its objectives, executes its strategies and progresses towards its vision. In addition, as a means of achieving the aforementioned, create an environment built on trust, open and transparent communication, innovation and pro-active behaviours.
- Ensure adherence to Quality, Environmental Health and Safety requirements of the Organization
- Adherence to cost control measures and budget within the Weber TPQC Division
- Support the meeting and exceeding of operational performance and financial targets as set by the Weber Plant Manager
