**Marketing Manager Wanted**

Skills Academy is looking for an Marketing Manager to join our fast growing, exciting distance learning college. **Our Ideal Marketing Manager is**:

- **Invested**:The marketing department is a big part of our company. It is the starting point on our student’s journey. We also assist the other departments with support functions. Marketing does not always have a clear right answer and therefore you need to be invested in testing and determining what works best.
- **Detail Oriented**:Marketing works with everything from communication to students to our advertising. Therefore whether it is managing messaging, to ensure it is clear and free from error, or managing advertising spend to ensure we are within budget, you need to be detail oriented because any mistake can have significant consequences.
- **Forward Thinking**:We want someone who is looking to make improvements who looks at systems and processes and thinks how we can do this better. It might not be broken but why not make it better We are not looking for a marketing implementer but a marketing manager.
- **A Good Leader**: In marketing there are a large number of roles that work quite independently of one another, and therefore the team might not feel like a connected whole. As a leader you need to be the person who bridges the gap between their different areas of work and create a motivated team that represents the Skills Academy culture. You must also be firm and willing to impose discipline on those who refuse to come together and be part of the functional whole.
- **Organised**: With the large range of functions that live within marketing you need to ensure that work does not fall through the cracks and be able to prioritize work based on its importance and the impact it will have.
- **Creative**: Marketing is an ever changing field and that means that what works and what's right is constantly changing. It is also the department that needs to perform if the business seeks to grow. Therefore you need creativity to come up with new ideas and to push the boundaries of what works and what doesn’t. New ideas and plans will need to come from you otherwise marketing will stagnate in this fast changing landscape.
- **Able To Communicate**: The role of marketing manager is not an isolated one. You need to build good communication channels with other departments, especially the sales department. Marketing’s success is not measured in leads but in the amount of sales it can help generate. To ensure marketing reaches this goal a proper relationship with the sales manager is essential.
- **Analytical and Precise**: The paid advertising element of our marketing department requires a great deal of precision to ensure mistakes aren’t made and money isn’t wasted. The marketing manager also needs to be able to set up tests using different marketing ideas to ensure the best process is being followed. Marketing is also responsible for our CRM and how that integrates with all our lead sources, and mistakes can prove problematic.
- **A Critical Thinker**: The marketing manager needs to be able to critically evaluate ideas that are brought to them. Both by junior staff and by those above them. The marketing manager cannot simply rely and blindly accept all advice and guidance but must engage with that advice uncover flaws and seek to improve it.

**Technical Job Requirements**:

- **Essential**:

- At least two years management experience.
- The ability to communicate fluently in English both written and verbal.
- At Least 5 years experience in the Digital Marketing field (Or a field that has transferable skills)
- **Recommended**:

- Experience using Wordpress and a CRM
- Experience in SEO and Page Conversion
- Experience working with Google Advertising
- Experience working with Facebook Advertising
- Experience Working in Google Analytics.
- Some form of Marketing qualification.
- Have been involved in staff processes. IE. hiring, training and discipline.
