This role carries senior and professional responsibility for the development and delivery of Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate. The postholder will provide building and construction expertise to support the development of the organization and be the principal advisor on all land, property, estates, and facilities matters to the Board. The postholder will work closely with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure all estates and facilities matters are considered as part of any business/service reconfiguration and in the development of any new services. Quality, compliance, commercial awareness, construction management, and leadership will be paramount.

Key Result Areas:

- Ensure that Benguela cove's Facilities are appropriate, environmentally safe, and compliant with all legislation.
- Ensure that the potential of the estate and the facilities are optimized effectively to deliver excellent ratings from our external visitors/staff.
- Ensure the development and implementation of property, estates, and facilities management policies, procedures, and systems, which are fully integrated with the processes.

Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the development of the strategic direction of the organization and the annual planning cycles and advise on upcoming maintenance and refurbishment costs.
- Work closely with the management team to ensure that an estates strategy is in place that supports the development and achievement of the group's strategic and operational objectives.

Project Management and Developments
- Ensure professional, robust, and timely project management is in place for Benguela Cove's development projects.
- Reviewing building and M & E surveys
- Set standards and monitor progress against these and review and update to take account of changes in legislation and service developments.
- Professionally lead the facilities services to ensure the delivery of high-quality services from the resources available and in line with relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Oversee the operations, repairs, and compliance of the following: plumbing, electrics, lifts, parking, painting and decoration, drain management, waste management, car parks, fire safety, air conditioning, CCTV, generators, and cleaning operatives.

Legislation and health and safety
- Ensure responsibility for the provision of Health and Safety Advice and training including fire, security, food hygiene, allergen, manual handling, first aid etc in line with the health and safety requirements of the business. Managing annual renewal and retaining.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements and performance of the estate to provide a safe and secure environment for by carrying out inspections.
- Managing all related facilities administration, supervision of contractors.
- Managing all repairs and maintenance.

General
- To maintain and develop up-to-date professional knowledge and skills through training, reading, and other such activities and to incorporate the same into practice.
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities reasonably consistent with your role.

Health & Safety
- In carrying out this role you have a duty (under Health and Safety legislation) to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others. This implies taking positive steps to understand the hazards in the workplace, comply with safety rules and procedures, and to ensure that nothing you do or fail to do, puts yourself or others at risk. This includes managing a safe and secure environment for people who work and visit Benguela Cove.
