**Job Advert Summary**:
Our client, a medical surveillance company, is looking for an **Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner** to work at their clinic in **Vanderbijlpark **in Gauteng**.**

This is a **permanent opportunity,** and the working hours are** Monday - Friday (08:00 - 16:00)**.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- **You must have reliable transport to work as you cannot start your shift later than 08:00**:

- Grade 12
- Occupational Health and General Nursing qualification
- Spirometry, Audiometry and Vision Screening certificates are essential
- 5 years’ experience in the field of Occupational Health is essential
- A tertiary managerial qualification will be an advantage
- Registration with SANC
- Registered with the South African Society of Occupational Health Nursing Practitioners (SASOHN)
- A 171 Audiometric registration with SASOHN
- Active CPF indemnity cover. Note that the client will pay for your cover if permanently appointed
- The ability to establish, analyse and interpret data for the purpose of statistical reporting
- Must show a good knowledge of the OHS Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, Employment Equity Act and other relevant legislation
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel. Outlook etc.) (IMPERATIVE)
- Good interpersonal relations
- High level of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent facilitation skills
- Good telephone etiquette
- Ability to WORK UNDER PRESSURE
- Sound judgement skills

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Comply with all relevant legislation (Exceptional good knowledge of OHS Act, Mine Health & Safety Act, Employment Equity Act, etc.)
- Maintain confidentiality, improve client relationships and maintain a professional company image
- Must be able to work independently and do a complete medical without supervision
- **Occupational Health Practitioner duties**:

- Keep up to date with changes in legislation
- Ensure that calibration control of all centre equipment is current
- Attend professional seminars and meetings
- Conduct Pre-employment/periodic/exit examinations in line with the Minimum Medical Standards set out by our OMP
- Detection/identification of medical disorders and occupational diseases
- Link exposure history and medical history to any medical conditions found during the examination
- Take Blood Samples for Biological Monitoring
- Give appropriate health education
- Recommend appropriate PPE were indicated
- Ongoing research and ensuring that CPD points are met
- Keep up to date with environmental exposures, HCS, liaise with other OHPs, other medical centres and professional organisations
- Administration: Documentation - keep accurate records at all times and communicate client information to management
- Write referral letters to doctors, etc., concerning client deviations
- Quality control of all medical records before signing the records off after a medical examination
- **Comply with the following**:

- Be able to coordinate and have excellent communication skills
- Be able to make accurate decisions in the best interest of the company and the client
- Be able to know what tasks must be delegated and when
- Excellent motivational skills
- Be able to enforce discipline diplomatically and show excellent personal disciplinary skills
