**Position Overview**: The purpose of the position is to take full accountability to repair accident damaged vehicles to the highest possible standards. thereby assisting the branch with the achievement of its financial and service targets.
**Specific Role Responsibilities**:
1. Vehicle Repairs Controls all aspects of the repair process by: - Checking booked in vehicles against the quotation. - Assisting in the stripping of vehicles and checking the extent of the damage. - Ensuring that stripped parts are placed in the parts bin and stored in storeroom. - Ensuring after stripping that all damages have been quoted for and the correct parts are on the parts list -Signing for parts entered into storeroom. -Setting vehicles up on a jig if required and pull vehicles in a safe manner and exactly in line with manufacturers’ specifications. - Removing dents on vehicles as specified on the job cards. - Repairing damages as specified on the job cards. -Cutting and welding panels and ensuring that all repairs are done according to manufacturers’ standards.

2. Stock Control Ensures that there is proper control of stock by: -Checking that the parts supplied are in fact correct as soon as they arrive and that all the parts have been received.

3. Quality Control Ensures good quality standard of repair is maintained by:

- Checking that vehicles are repaired according to manufacturer’s specifications - Checking that all welding is of correct standard. Fitting new parts and signing off the quality of the repair before the vehicle is handed over to preparation. -Checking overall quality of repairs before releasing vehicles to spray shop.

4. Equipment Ensures availability of tools and equipment by: - Ensuring that all the equipment used is in good working order and safe. -Booking hand equipments into the storeroom at the end of the day.

5. General - Assisting in the assembling of vehicles when required. -Training, checking and testing of apprentices. Ensuring that the apprentice is studying. Ensuring that their designated work area is kept clean and tidy at all times. - Performing other duties reasonably required from time to time

**Qualifications and Experience**:
**Minimum Requirements** - 2 years' and more of relevant experience - Technical Qualification - B A Journeyman - Journeyman - Grade 12 **Minimum Requirement** - Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license (at least 2 years old) - Computer literate (basic level will suffice) - An excellent command of the English language is essential, both verbal and written
