Cost and Reporting Assistant Accountant

**Purpose**
To support the finance department with all costing and reporting aspects of standard process costing system, stock valuation, financial reporting on detailed variance analysis and budgeting processed, etc.

**Main Responsibilities (not limited to)**

**_Costing_**
- Implementation and maintenance of the standard process costing system including policies and procedures.
- Implementation, maintenance and ensuring the accuracy of the bill of materials and individual product costing.
- The analysis of variances against standards including reasons and assist with action plans.
- Accurate stock valuation, including raw materials, work in progress, cost of sales and the valuation of waste.
- The revaluation of stock from standard to actual at financial year-end.
- Maintenance of the integrity of the inventory and production modules in the ERP system.
- Monthly inventory counts and reconciliation to the inventory modules.

**_ Reporting_**
- To assist with the monthly financial reporting with detailed variance analysis
- To participate in the monthly meeting with all Heads of Department (HODs) on departmental expenditure, fixed assets and forecasting.
- Contribute to the development of the Company budgeting process through the preparation of guidelines and budget calendar, co-ordination of completion of templates, collation of information and consolidation of budget.
- Co-ordinate the external audit processes.
- To ensure compliance to policies, processes, procedures and IFR standards.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or Degree in Accounting
- Studying towards CIMA will be advantageous
- 5-7 years’ experience in accounting

- Relevant Financial legislations and regulations
- Manufacturing in a process costing environment
- Standard Cost Accounting (At a junior level)
- Variance analysis of standard costing
- Knowledge of IAS2
- Budgeting and financial management
- IFR standards and internal policies, procedures and processes
