Job Description **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS** - Ensure all in process inspections are properly undertaken and full attention is given to ensure quality requirements met. - Ensure that the production manufactured meets the relevant quality standards/ requirements. - To ensure that a good standard of housekeeping is maintained throughout the moulding and related areas. - To ensure that the proper materials and masterbatch for the job are used and production is in accordance with requirements - To ensure that all downtime and scrap is properly and accurately classified and recorded. - Keep to minimum the level of scrap, general waste and down time. - Communicate as appropriate with colleagues, your shift supervisor and/ or manager any issues that should be brought to his / her attention whether they relate to quality, health and safety, material or masterbatch or resource availability and anything else considered relevant. - Any plastic waste for reprocessing is properly and clearly labeled for recycling. - To ensure that the problems that frustrate the efficient running of machines and/ or the manufacture of an acceptable quality product and/ or frustrate running more machines and adequately communicated to a supervisor and/ or QC so that any issues can be properly addressed. - Where product problems are identified the defective product containment rules are properly applied and followed on a timely basis. - Ensure that defect product is properly segregated and labeled and Supervisor and/ or Foreman is notified. - From time to time you will need to be flexible with your working hours when production demands arises due to various circumstances. - Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed at all times ( Safety is our Priority) - Maintain and ensure a production adherence of over 93% - Maintain and ensure a OEE of 92% **KEY PERFOMANCE INDICATORS** - Ensure production targets are met but conducting job changes efficiently, eliminating unnecessary downtime and running the correct cycle times. ( OEE > 92% at a Quality standard) - Ensure that scrap levels are maintained at a low level by conducting continuous quality checks. ( Scrap < 2%) - Comply and maintain all 5S activities and process in your area - Report all near misses to ensure safe working environment Qualifications - Grade 11 - Basic Injection moulding certificate - 3 to 5 years’ experience in injection moulding Additional Information BIC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
