The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the remuneration and payroll services of the business, as well as ensure compliance to specific legislative requirements and compensation guidelines that needs to be applied nationally and internationally. Strong leadership skills are a must have for this opportunity.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the Group’s payroll function for South Africa in-house and coordinate the outsourced payroll function in all other Africa subsidiaries.
- Ensure statutory payroll reporting to regulatory bodies is accurate and on-time for the group national and international (STATS, PAYE, Employee withholding taxes & social security)
- Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation
- Approve the monthly payroll journal and assist in ensuring that all General Ledger
- Control Accounts reconciles
- Manage the Africa payroll process via coordination with Sage consultants in Africa countries.
- Reporting of headcount monthly status comparing vs budget and estimates and list variances by department by company.
- Managing regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
- Ensure that Master Data is correct per the Payroll system Development of reports and reporting that will assist the business in generating efficient and accurate information when needed.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4-6 years’ relevant experience within operations
- Sage People - highly preferable
- Proven leadership experience and working in complex organizational structures
